An exchange is the perfect solution for AOG issues when you need to keep downtime to a minimum. If you need a part and can’t wait, Cox Airparts offers aircraft parts exchange with next-day service. We can ship an overhauled or repaired part out to you anywhere in the world and then you send in your core for overhaul or repair. Our inventory includes hydraulic components for top general aviation aircraft manufacturers including Beechcraft King Air and Piper PA-46. If you don’t need the part right away, a more cost-effective solution is to have it overhauled or repaired with single or dual-release 8130-3 certification.

How Does Our Exchange Policy Work?

How Does an Aircraft Component Exchange Work?

An aircraft component exchange is a time-saving process in which a worn-out or faulty part is exchanged for an overhauled or repaired part. The customer pays an exchange fee to have an overhauled or repaired part shipped out immediately. The core is returned within 30 days and evaluated to see if the part can be overhauled (overhaul exchange) or repaired (repair exchange).

Once the part is returned to serviceable condition, it is added to the supplier’s inventory. If the core is beyond economical repair (BER), it will need to be replaced because it will cost more to repair than the core is worth. In any case, the customer is notified about any bill back costs for overhaul, repair or replacement.

FAQs

Is overhaul or exchange better for my aircraft parts?

The choice between overhaul and exchange comes down to when you need the part. If there’s an aircraft on ground (AOG) issue, exchange is the best option to get a part shipped out quickly. But if you’ve got time to wait, overhaul is the more economical option because you only pay for the overhaul costs.

What does bill back mean?

Bill back is the additional cost for the returned core to be replaced if it’s too worn out or damaged to be repaired or overhauled.

Can I just buy a new part without sending in my old one?

Unfortunately, we do not offer the option to purchase new parts outright. All part replacements require you to send in your old component first. For further details on this process, please contact our support team.
